This just in: The Apostle Islands Ice Caves will be open the public starting Saturday. Probably. According to today's update: if conditions remain stable the ice caves will be open Saturday, February 28. Watch their official Facebook page for current conditions. The ice is plenty thick, but according to the park rangers the hike out will be a bit more slippery this year. Be sure to bring the appropriate footwear, dress in layers, and bring your camera!
