Bentleyville Tour of Lights

Spectacular Minnesota Holiday Tradition

The country's largest free walk-through lighting display, right here in Duluth, MN!

Bentleyville Tour of Lights will turn on its millions of lights once again to thousands of onlookers at Bayfront Park in downtown Duluth. After 2 months of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours put into building the largest Christmas light show in the upper Midwest. Each year they add new light displays and a fresh look encouraging people of all ages to visit.

If you have ever traveled to Duluth in the winter, you may have noticed the massive illuminated tree peaking its top over the interstate to incoming guests. This winter park is a must-see for any visitors and locals alike.

Bentleyville is free to the public, but donations are welcome and very much appreciated. They are a non-profit organization and all donations go directly to the operations and purchases of new light displays. Visitors are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army as well.

While gazing on a walking tour through the numerous scenes of winter wonder, fire pits are scattered throughout to gather around and roast marshmallows. A “Cookie House” offers free cookies, coffee and apple cider to everyone visiting. All the walking paths are paved allowing it to be fully handicapped accessible. A Popcorn building is also on the trail to hand out free popcorn as you stroll through the light show.

What to Bring

Bring the whole family, invite your friends, and make this a yearly tradition. There is no better way to kick off the holiday season than taking a trip to Duluth to see the tour of the lights at Bentleyville.

Plan ahead and bring the essentials.

Donations: Bentleyville encourages people to bring nonperishable food items or new unwrapped toys to donate to the Salvation Army for those in need.

Cash: The event is free, but parking is $10 at the gate. Unless you are staying at Beacon Pointe, we have you covered.

Warm Clothes: Not even the best meteorologists can predict the weather 100% accurately, with Lake Superior setting the scene. Wear layers of warm clothes. You can always remove them. Hand warmers can be a lifesaver on extremely cold nights, and if you have one of those fancy heated coats, that's a good idea too.

Stroller or Wagon: If you have small kids, bring that stroller or wagon for convenience. Complimentary strollers and wheelchairs are free to use on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Camera: Remember to take that family photo with Santa Claus or in front of the massive Christmas tree.
